Here we are on the bus getting ready to leave:
We went to Happy Cow Creamery where they told us about how they make their special all natural milk with no need for preservatives. It was really interesting!
Here's my group. They were all really good kids! I think I had it easier than Ryan did when he went on the field trip last year. He had mostly boys in his group and I think he had quite a time keeping them together.
Here's everybody getting ready to go on the tour:
This is what they call the "Maternity Ward" where all the cows who are expecting babies are kept together:

And here's a little calf that was just born early this morning!
Here's where they process and bottle up the milk. They actually do it in an old silo. They said that it's the only silo in the world that's been turned into a processing plant.
Then we took a trolly ride around the farm where they showed us the naturally fertilized grass that the cows eat to give them their special milk. No chemicals are used anywhere on the farm.

Snacktime!
Potty time!
Heading back to the school for lunch:
After lunch, we went to the Planetarium at BJ. It's been years since I've been there (About 15 years actually! Wow...that makes me feel really old!). It was neat to see it again.
And then we headed back to the school for the kids to get ready to go home. I was exhausted by this point, but the kids were just getting revved up! Here's Elaina and her friend doing the little rhyming and clapping thing that all the girls seem to be into...I don't know what it's called...you know, the "Miss Mary Mack" type thing.
So, it was a fun day, but boy, did it wear me out! I ended up taking like an hour long nap when I got home! I'm glad I was able to go though. It was nice to spend the day with Elaina and get to know some of the kids from her class better!
